ASPI 2018 Spring MeetingFebruary 28- March 2, 2018Diplomat Beach Resort, Hollywood, FloridaEach spring, ASPI brings together leaders from a wide range of pulp, paper, and packaging industry suppliers to further their knowledge about how best to serve industry customers. This year was no exception. The ASPI 2018 Spring Meeting proved to be one of the larger meetings in recent years with over 70 members attending. The program featured speakers from key customers in the industry as well as the presentation of ASPI's two annual awards. Paul O’Bernier, Paper and Board Manufacturing Solutions, International Paper, was the recipient of ASPI's 2018 Excellence in Leadership Award and Linda Massman, CEO, Clearwater Paper, was the recipient of ASPI's 2018 Customer Executive of the Year award. As Ms. Massman could not attend the meeting, Terry Borden, Vice President, Purchasing, Clearwater Paper, accepted the award on her behalf. These awards not only provide recognition for the recipient, they also promote ASPI’s mission of supporting industry performance.

Attendees also enjoyed a continental breakfast on Thursday before the formal programming commenced. Keith Kemp, ASPI President and VP Global Sales, AstenJohnson Advanced Fabrics, started the Meeting by welcoming attendees. He also announced that his term as President had come to an end and introduced our new ASPI President, Carl Luhrmann of Andritz. After a day of customer presentations, attendees had the opportunity to enjoy some networking activities including golf, followed by a reception and dinner. Friday also began with a continental breakfast followed by morning presentations. The Meeting adjourned prior to lunch.
