Rodger Fuller

Rodger D. Fuller - Senior Vice President, Paper/Engineered Carriers U.S./Canada and Display and Packaging - Sonoco Products Company

Rodger D. Fuller has responsibility for the company’s Paper and Engineered Carriers businesses, including 12 uncoated recycled paper mills, 24 recovered paper recycling facilities, 40 tube and core converting facilities and 16 wire and cable reels centers, serving customers throughout the U.S. and Canada. In addition, he leads the company’s Display and Packaging business, which operates 25 manufacturing and packaging facilities in the United States, Mexico, Poland and Brazil. Combined, these businesses have annual sales of $1.6 billion and 8,000 associates.  Prior to this appointment, Fuller was Group Vice President at Sonoco. He has held leadership positions in both Consumer and Industrial businesses during his 31-year career with Sonoco.

Fuller graduated from Berry College in Rome, Georgia, with a B.S. in business administration, and he received an MBA from Emory University.  He is active in industry and community service organizations, including serving on the board of the Paper and Packaging Board, American Forest and Paper Association and the Hartsville United Way. He and his wife, Helen, have two grown children and reside in Hartsville


 

Michael Garcia

Michael D. Garcia - President - Pulp and Paper Division - Domtar Corporation


Michael D. Garcia has been President of Domtar’s Pulp and Paper Division since May 2014.

Mr. Garcia has more than 25 years of international management experience in paper, steel, and aluminum on three continents. A native of Arizona, he served five years in the United States Army as a Armor officer with the Third Armored Cavalry Regiment and is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm.

After leaving the military in 1991, Mr. Garcia began his civilian career with Kimberly Clark, a global paper and consumer products company, as a Production Team Leader and Project Leader in Paris, Texas. From 1999 to 2007, Mr. Garcia worked with Alcoa, Inc., a global aluminum producer. There he held various leadership roles that led to him being named Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Alcoa Asia Pacific in Beijing, China. In 2007, Mr. Garcia became Regional Vice President for Gerdau Ameristeel, Inc., a subsidiary of the Gerdau Group, a Brazilian steel company, the largest long steel producer in North America. He implemented lean manufacturing systems and standardized manufacturing processes for a division of 1400 employees at five steel facilities.

In 2010 Mr. Garcia joined Evraz, Inc. a Moscow-based global steel company as Senior Vice President, Manufacturing and Supply Chain of Evraz North America. A year later he was named CEO of Evraz Highveld Steel & Vanadium Co, an integrated steel and vanadium producer and South Africa’s second largest steel producer. Mr. Garcia and his wife resided in Pretoria, South Africa from 2011 to 2014 before he joined Domtar in May of 2014.

Mr. Garcia is Director of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, Charlotte Branch. He holds an MBA from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Business Administration and is a graduate of the United States Military Academy in West Point, New York.


 

 Steve Myers

Steve Myers - Operations Lead - Strategic Initiatives, Expera Specialty Solutions

Steve joined the company in 2009, bringing a wealth of experience in engineering, chemicals, sheeting and paper mill operations management.  Prior to joining Expera, Steve spent 17 years in printing and writing side of the industry working in a number of Consolidated/Stora Enso/NewPage mills, leading paper machine, pulp mill and sheeting operations.  He joined Expera’s Thilmany Mill in 2009, focused on capital improvements to increase the flexibility of the mill’s largest paper machine to meet the diverse needs of Expera’s customer base.  Steve became the mill manager in 2012, until October of 2014 when he was named Expera’s Operations Lead – Strategic Initiatives for Expera Specialty Solutions. 

Steve’s current role is Vice President of Operations for Expera’s Integrated Mills. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Paper Science, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Western Michigan University and a Master of Science degree in Paper Science from the Institute of Paper Science & Technology, as well as an Executive MBA from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Steve, his wife, and his three children call Appleton, WI home.


 

 Adam St.John

Adam St. John - Senior Vice President of Manufacturing - Verso Corporation

Adam St. John has been the Senior Vice President of Manufacturing for Verso Corporation since August 2016 and a member of the Office of the Chief Executive since September 2016. Mr. St. John, a 24-year paper industry veteran, has worked at Verso for the past 10 years, most recently serving as Regional Vice President of Manufacturing with responsibility for our largest paper mills.


 

Rodney L. Young

Rodney L. Young - Chief Economic Advisor, RISI

Rod Young started modeling and forecasting in the pulp and paper industry in 1977.  Since then, his work in international pulp and paper markets has received worldwide recognition.  Rod now consults on a regular basis with companies throughout the world.  He continues to assist in the development of the RISI analysis and forecast of the world pulp and paper market, along with working on individual projects. In addition, Rod is the primary person responsible for the RISI analysis of the global dissolving pulp market.

Rod became Chief Economic Advisor  for RISI in 2010, after serving for four years as the company CEO and then Chairman. His role includes integrating economic analysis across the different divisions of RISI.

Rod received a Master of Science degree in Forestry Economics from Virginia Polytechnical Institute in 1977 and also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry from Michigan State University.
